Verified account required to send emails, this is why

Last updated:

Lettermint is designed to deliver transactional emails as quickly as possible to the recipient's inbox. As you can see on our Time to Inbox page, we do this fast and reliably. To continue guaranteeing this, it's necessary to verify your account (team) before you can send emails to recipients.

Why is a verified account required?

We take email delivery very seriously. To ensure that Lettermint remains a reliable service for all our users, it's important to prevent abuse including spam. We want to be certain that emails land in the recipient's inbox and not in the spam folder.

We actively monitor - in full compliance with European privacy laws - for abuse of Lettermint. Account verification helps us gain more insight into how you'll use Lettermint. This helps us better understand what types of emails are being sent and how recipient consent is handled.

Without a verified account, it's still possible to send emails, but only to your own email address that you used to create the account.

Verification process

When creating a new team in Lettermint, we ask for some information. The verification process consists of the following steps:

  1. Add domain
  2. Add project
  3. Verify account

In step 3, we ask for some information about your use of Lettermint. This step consists of the following questions:

  1. Account type (individual or business)
  2. Website
  3. Email types (transactional or broadcast)
  4. How to handle unsubscribes
  5. Expected sending volume

After submitting your verification request, we'll process it as soon as possible. Usually within a few hours (Amsterdam GMT+2). Meanwhile, you can continue implementing Lettermint in your application or website through our SDKs and API.

Note that during the verification process, you can only send emails to your own email address. Emails sent to other recipients will be automatically rejected and return an error message, for example: Unverified teams can send mail only to team members..
