Since Listmonk version 6.1.0, Lettermint is available as a preset. Select it from the SMTP presets, fill in your API token and you're ready to send.

Listmonk is a free, open source newsletter tool you can host yourself. You manage your own subscriber lists, design campaigns and decide where your data lives. No per-subscriber pricing, no limits on campaigns. If you've been looking for an alternative to Mailchimp or Brevo, this is it. Pair it with a European email provider like Lettermint and your email delivery stays within Europe too.

How does it work?

Go to your SMTP settings in Listmonk and select the Lettermint preset. Host, port and TLS are filled in automatically. Enter your API token as password, test the connection and you're done.

Listmonk has a visual drag-and-drop editor for building newsletters, but you can also write HTML or plain text. Templates are reusable, so you don't have to start from scratch every time.

Newsletters are broadcast emails and are sent separately from your transactional emails. Lettermint forwards hard bounces, soft bounces and spam complaints back to Listmonk through webhooks, so your lists stay clean.

Getting started

We wrote a guide that covers the full setup: SMTP configuration, bounce webhooks and sending your first campaign.
