Yes. Our terms explicitly allow healthcare providers to send transactional and operational messages, such as appointment reminders and portal notifications. As the sender you decide what goes into an email, so we recommend keeping medical details out of the message and linking to your patient portal instead. ### Can emails contain health data? Our [data processing agreement](https://lettermint.co/dpa.md) allows it when you have determined that the processing is lawful and properly safeguarded. Our security measures then apply to that data as well: encryption, least-privilege access, confidentiality and access logging. Even so, the safest email contains no diagnosis or result, only a notification and a link to a secure environment. ### Do you support medical secrecy? Yes. Everyone on our team holds a certificate of conduct (VOG) and signs a confidentiality agreement.
